Eating Local is an excellent, small, family owned business located in west Maui. What they lack for in flair and appearance is easily made up for by the delicious traditional Hawaiian meals. The breakfast, chicken katsu, and loco moco were excellent and quickly served. The mom and pop shop also served the meals in a nicely packaged bag with plenty of sauces, utensils, and napkins. If you are in west Maui then try this restaurant.
The outdoor appearance of the shop can be off putting and the mall that this place is located in can be sketchy. So be careful and enjoy! Also there are no seats available early in the day as they have to place them out daily. The sides are also tasty and almost better than the main dishes!

Best loco moco I've had in Hawaii. Great bang for your buck. They had a sign up apologizing for price increases, but I felt the prices were still very reasonable. Definitely recommend this spot if you're in the area. Photo is of the mini set and it's still a lot of food!

THE BEST local eatery in Lahaina, if not all of Maui, for breakfast and lunch: Family-owned, with everything made from scratch and to your liking. The blackened ahi (grilled local Maui tuna) was cooked to perfection, topped with a mango salsa and the wasabi dipping sauce was the prefect compliment. Loved the slaw, too.

This is a little take-out food restaurant right off of front street. They have a few local cuisine options and reasonable prices. The staff were super friendly and quick to offer suggestions. We got our food pretty fast.
Nice spot if you're looking to grab something to go. The poutine was delicious.

So glad we found this spot! Such friendly people and the food was fabulous! We ordered the katsu, pulled pork loco moco and the ahi tuna plate. I’ve never had macaroni with peas in it but LOVED IT! Highly recommend this spot for a plate lunch that won’t disappoint! 🌺
